When I started this Substack, I announced that most of the content would remain free. Subscribers receive email notification of new posts, giveaways, and access to the archives.
I appreciate all of you for subscribing and participating through your restacks, comments, and social media posts.
Every week, I receive emails or direct messages inquiring about my future presentation and workshop schedule. Predominately, these messages come from educators and librarians who are seeking professional development about reading motivation, independent reading, libraries, and books. Unfortunately, many local and state opportunities for professional learning and networking have dried up during the pandemic era.
In response to the requests I have received (and my personal desire to connect with like-minded educators and readers), I’ve offered four webinars a year for paid subscribers. Each quarter, I will host a one-hour webinar about topics of interest. Most of them will focus on working with young readers at home and school, but many of the suggestions and resources are beneficial for readers of all ages.
The first webinar will take place on September 28, 2024 at 11 am Central Time. The webinar will take place using my private Zoom room. The session will be recorded.
This quarter’s topic is “Navigating Slumps in Reading Motivation” and will extend the information provided in this August post. The session will include numerous book and media recommendations. I look forward to chatting with you later this month!
Happy Reading!
